Ribera microphones, born out of the co-operation between Silvano Ribera and Michele Sartor, together with the support and encouragement of world-class sound engineers and high professional musicians, are an attempt to rediscover the typical sound of classic German and Austrian tube microphones of the previous mid-century. The upcoming interest by large recording studios and by the professional audio sector in general aroused the desire to carry out this ambitious project.

The design philosophy of the Ribera microphones is based on the research of finding the best components, combined with the implementation of electronic platforms and uniquely appointed solutions, which can maximize the performance of the vintage valves. This project combines the intention of creating a versatile tool for efficient work as well as a solid investment.

Silvano Ribera deals with tube microphone since his twenties, when he used to work at the “Studer Italy” in Milan. His “favorites” have always been the Neumann U47 and AKG C12, of which he admired the sound and the electronics realization since when he used to work as a technical engineer between the 60s and 70s. Together with Michele Sartor, musician and sound engineer, he decided to share the research on tube microphones with all his friends, musicians and sound engineers.

Since 2012, Piero Sturla has been included in the team. He is in charge of making the mechanical and electronic parts of our microphones.

Get spoiled with the sound of our tube mics!
